What do I need to check-in?
You must have an ID-card or passport. No other proof of identity will be accepted.
When is Check-in / Check-out?
Check-in: from 2 pm to 9 pm
* You must let us know approximately what time you plan to check in before your arrival so that we can be available to greet you. All check ins must be arranged with us before your arrival. Just send us a quick email or give us a phone call. If you notify us that you will be arriving after 9pm or arriving to Winnipeg by train you will be given self check-in details closer to your arrival date.
**Check ins as early as 9am are more than welcome if there are no private group bookings checking out that day (pease inquire) however we cannot promise your bed will be ready, until 2pm. You are welcome to leave your luggage with us while you get out and explore.
Check-out: 11 am
If you are an early bird and checking-out before 8am, please let us know.
When is Breakfast served? Is it included?
A small breakfast snack is served in the guest kitchen between 8 am and 11 am. Breakfast is included in the price.
Where can we park our car?
We have a few parking spots available for our guests free of charge which are on a first come first serve basis. There is also free street parking 24/7 between March 1st- December 1st.
*Please note there is no overnight street parking allowed from December 1st- March 1st between midnight- 6am.
How do I get to La Cabane from the airport?
When you head outside the arrivals terminal, take bus 15 (Mountain) into the city centre, getting off at Eastbound Portage at Donald/Bell MTS Place. From this stop you can take either 43 (Kildonan Place) or 10 (St. Boniface via Provencher), getting off at the St. Jean Baptiste bus stop. Look for the house with the murals (315 Provencher Blvd)... And voila! Welcome to La Cabane!
*Be careful of bus 10 - there are two routes going into St. Boniface. If you take bus 10 (St. Boniface via Tache), it is best to get off as soon as you cross the river. It will be about a 10 minute walk (800 metres) down Provencher Blvd.
Should I bring a sleeping bag or other linens?
No, linens are included in the price and we don’t allow personal linens such as sleeping bags or liners to be used inside the guesthouse. Towels and facecloths are also available at no extra cost.
Do you have lockers in the rooms?
We do have lockers in the dorm room. Don’t forget to bring a padlock. In case you forgot yours, you can purchase one upon check in (15$)
What can I do with all my gear after check-out?
You can store your luggage with us for free after checking out. Just be sure to pick it up before 9pm.
Can I bring children?
We do not recommend that young children stay in our guesthouse, as the atmosphere tends to be rather adult. However, if your children are used to this environment then please contact us directly and we will let you know if we can accommodate your family. We do not have cribs. Children under 16 can only be in private rooms unless you are renting the entire dorm.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be sent in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org and are only valid if confirmed in writing by us, deposits are non refundable.
What’s the story with no shows or cancellations less than 24hrs in advance?
If you do not cancel and do not check in on the first day of your booking: A cancellation fee equivalent to one nights' stay per person is applicable. If your booking is for more than one night, La Cabane reserves the right to cancel the remainder of your booking and resell the bed/room. If it is more than 24 hours notice your reservation will be canceled, however your deposit will not be refunded.
Can I reschedule my booking?
If you need to reschedule within 24 hours of the booking, a fee of 25% will be applied.
Do you accept Group Bookings?
Yes we do, please contact us directly to make a booking for 5 or more persons.
What do I need to know about my group booking?
Group bookings must be cancelled at least 1 month prior to the arrival date to avoid any extra costs/charges.
If the cancellation is more than 2 weeks prior to the arrival date- a cancellation fee of 25% will be applied.
If the cancellation is less than 2 weeks prior to the arrival date- a cancellation fee of 50% will be applied.
The total amount of the booking must be paid 2 weeks before the arrival date.
How long can I stay?
14 days is the maximum (please contact us directly if you are thinking of staying longer).
Do you have a guest kitchen?
We have a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, cups, plates, glasses, etc.
Is there a female only dorm?
No. We have a 4-bed mixed gender dorm.
Can I pay in another currency?
We only accept CAD. You can also pay by Visa, MasterCard or American Express at reception. Debit cards with the contactless tap option may also be accepted however only for payments under 100$.
